Deposits and landlords...

One we can’t wait to get away from, the other we can’t wait to get back…

In general landlords are ok but, and it’s one of THOSE buts, they are in it for business and not out of some humanitarian beliefs.

Aside from that, we all want to be able to “live” in our apartments and not treat them as works of art. Consequently they usually need a little TLC when it comes to moving out.

The general opinion, and misconception, is that you need/should/have to repaint throughout.

Not so in fact, unless it is stipulated in your contract. It might not even need repainting at all. And that is where I come in, from painting only what is needed, working a little magic on the rest, making good what needs to be done and a deep and thorough cleaning to make the place look its best for inspection.

What looked lived in when you moved out can actually look fresh before you hand it back over. And the sooner the landlord can rent it back out the happier they will be. The happier your landlord is, the more agreeable they will be in finalizing your business together.

Not only do I know this but I’ve made it happen on more than a few occasions. I have the T shirt, the photo’s, the references and the astonishment of some landlords to prove it :-)
